Back in 2024, I worked as a Street Team Leader for Greek pop musician Evangelia for the summer. She mixes modern pop with cultural Greek elements and stars in incredible music videos. We had frequent Zoom meetings outlining how we would get people to the venue and spread the word about her music. We had certain promotional material we would post on social media and a private group to share our successes. The main focus was alerting the Greek people that Evangelia was going to be in town. She toured across the world that year. We went to Orthodox Churches, festivals, and Greek restaurants in LA and San Diego to leave postcards for people to take home with them. I even went to a local club to take my chances at garnering non-Greek people (she sings in both languages). While I was in Los Angeles, I got to meet the owner of Nick the Greek who treated me to a gyro and chatted. I also met the owner of Ela Greek Eats in Venice Beach who was thrilled to discover a new Greek pop musician. When it came to show time, I got to meet Evangelia and we talked about how her mom is her manager. I thought it was charming how humble she was compared to her Greek Goddess persona. She gave me a hug and we took pictures. What was really great was that I got to make new connections that fuel my love for the entertainment industry. I think this is invaluable to helping me thrive in entertainment, to see how things are run behind-the-scenes, and to get inspired to make new work. Plus, I got to meet Evangelia! And as Greek-American that is priceless. She has 75.3 million total plays globally since May of 2025.
